PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson have teamed up for a nostalgic new music video to accompany their “Stateside” remix, per nme.com. Directed by Charlotte Rutherford, the visual sees the two pop stars play rival mannequins in a battle of their signature aesthetics.
The remix features on PinkPantheress’ star-studded project Fancy Some More?, which arrived last October as a companion piece to her Mercury-nominated debut album, Fancy That.
In the new video, the duo appear in adjacent shop windows representing their distinct styles: PinkPantheress embodies the tartan-heavy, London-centric vibe of Fancy That, while Larsson brings the sun-drenched, sequinned energy of her Midnight Sun era. The barrier between them eventually collapses, bringing the two worlds together.
The release follows a stellar year for PinkPantheress, whose track “Illegal” recently topped the year-end charts. Speaking on her recent success, the British singer-songwriter attributed her momentum to a mix of viral trends and “timeless” production.
