Best-selling author of The Girl on the Train Paula Hawkins is back with a new book A Slow Fire Burning. Hawkins hit literary superstardom with the 2015 release of the dark, complex psychological thriller after spending 15 years working as a journalist and several years writing romantic comedies under the name Amy Silver.
The novel remained atop The New York Times best-seller list for a staggering 13 consecutive weeks, according to Shondaland, who Hawkins opened up to about her new book.
The Girl on the Train sold millions of copies and even returned to the top of the best-seller list in 2016, when a major motion-picture adaptation starring Emily Blunt landed in theatres. She followed up The Girl on the Train with her 2017 novel, Into the Water, and now returns to bookstores everywhere with her highly anticipated thriller, A Slow Fire Burning.
Shondaland reports that Hawkins has learned a lot from her previous books, and her evolution as a novelist is on full display with her latest novel, “as A Slow Fire Burning is not only her most complex, twist-filled tale yet, but it’s also the most mature, intricately detailed, and superbly paced book of her career. It will also, undoubtedly, vault the author back onto the top of the best-seller list again”.
