Paperworth Books Limited is making a striking statement about the reach and relevance of African storytelling. On April 11 the Nigerian independent publisher will host three authors in three cities on the same day, each presenting a new novel to audiences in Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt.
The triple-city event arrives just days ahead of World Book and Copyright Day, and positions the publishing house as one of the most ambitious advocates for homegrown literary talent in the country.

Award-winning author Amaka Azie will appear in Abuja to present “Behind the Perfect Frame,” her new novel exploring identity, ambition and the hidden fractures beneath seemingly flawless lives. Azie is already known to readers of young adult fiction through The Girl in the Picture (2025), which traces the impact of migration and displacement on young people navigating a sense of belonging.

In Ibadan, Tobiloba Afolayan will read from “Shina!,” a bold, emotionally charged novel about an activist brought low by his own failings. The book reimagines the biblical story of Samson and Delilah for a modern Nigerian setting, unflinching in its examination of human weakness and consequence.
Port Harcourt will welcome Rosemary Okafor, whose novel “Field of Grace” draws on the story of Ruth and Boaz to craft a tender love story about loyalty, renewal and unexpected belonging. Okafor weaves tradition with contemporary resonance to offer readers something both timeless and immediate.
“Every new writer we support strengthens the future of our literary landscape,” said Ibiso Graham-Douglas, founder and publisher of Paperworth Books. “We are committed to producing books that reflect our world with honesty and craft, books that find readers everywhere.”
All three titles are available in bookstores nationwide and online. Further details can be found at www.paperworthbooks.com.
