Nigerian Saxophonist, Julius Ekemode, popularly known as “Orlando Julius”, who died April 14, at the age of 79, would be laid to rest May 28 in his hometown, Ijebu Ijesha in Osun State.
Managing Director, Evergreen Musical Company, Bimbo Esho, reportedly made this known in an interview on Sunday in Lagos.
Esho said that there would be a Christian wake at Oke Agboja, Ijebu Ijesha in Osun State on May 27.
“The funeral service will hold on Saturday, May 28 at St. Matthew Church, Ijebu Ijesha.
“This is according to the notification the family made available to me today,” she said.
Until his passing, the saxophonist, singer, band leader and songwriter, who was closely associated with afrobeat music, released several albums including, “Disco Hi-Life”, “Ololufe”, “Love, Peace and Happiness”, and “Dance Afrobeat”.
