Glastonbury Festival-goers were treated to a surprise Sunday night as Olivia Rodrigo brought out Robert Smith, frontman of The Cure, during her headlining set, per consequence.net. Rodrigo, who hailed Smith as “the greatest songwriter to come out of England,” performed The Cure’s classics “Friday I’m in Love” and “Just Like Heaven” with the legendary alt-rocker.
This continues Rodrigo’s trend of high-profile collaborations, following recent appearances with David Byrne, No Doubt, Jewel, Sheryl Crow, and Stevie Nicks.
Meanwhile, in Dublin, Dua Lipa wrapped up the UK leg of her “Radical Optimism Tour” with a powerful tribute to Sinead O’Connor. The pop superstar covered O’Connor’s iconic “Nothing Compares 2 U,” telling the crowd she was “honoured to perform a song by a late Irish legend.” Dua Lipa’s tour is set to continue in North America starting in September.
