NMC unveils “NMC 100” List of Top Influencers & Innovators

The New Media Conference (NMC), Africa’s premier platform for new media professionals, has unveiled its prestigious NMC 100 List at its 10th-anniversary event in Lagos.

The list, according to a statement, recognises and celebrates a decade of groundbreaking work by the 100 individuals and organisations who have significantly shaped Nigeria’s digital media space over the past 10 to 15 years.

The 2025 edition of the conference, themed “A Decade of Disrupting New Media: Shaping Africa’s Future,” highlighted pioneers who have created new paths, amplified unheard voices, and built the future of media on the continent.

“The NMC 100 Disruptors represent the bold visionaries who are not just observing the evolution of Nigeria’s media landscape, they are actively shaping it,” said Oluwatosin Ajibade, Convener of the New Media Conference and founder of OloriSuperGal. “These gamechangers have proven that disruption isn’t about breaking things; it’s about building better futures”.

The NMC 100 spans multiple sectors, including content creation, digital journalism, tech innovation, and community building.

Digital Content Creation powerhouses recognised for captivating millions include Broda Shaggi, Nons Miraj, Tomike Adeoye, Funke Akindele, Mark Angel Comedy and Taaooma.

Social Media & Community Building honourees who have built influential digital communities include Uche Pedro (Founder, Bella Naija), Nkem Onwudiwe (Founder, Her Network), Oluwatosin Olaseinde (Founder, Money Africa), Enioluwa Adeoluwa, and comedian Mr. Macaroni.

In Digital Journalism & Investigative Storytelling, organisations like The Cable and Premium Times, along with investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo, were recognised for their dedication to truth and accountability.

For Tech Innovation in New Media, Iroko TV and Tech Point Africa were celebrated for leveraging technology to transform media consumption and revolutionize the new media landscape.

The influence of Podcasts was recognised with popular shows such as “I Said What I Said” and “Off Air With Gbemi & Toolz,” as well as media personalities Joey Akan and Toke Makinwa, all making the list.

Agencies that have redefined Digital Marketing & PR for the digital era, including ID Africa and Wild Fusion, were also featured.

The NMC was founded in 2015 as a premier gathering for new media and digital marketing professionals to discuss trends, share insights, and foster networking. The 2025 edition was supported by numerous partners, including ProvidusBank, Lagos State Tourism, Arts & Culture and WAKANOW.
