Nigerian filmmakers discuss artificial intelligence’s impact on Nollywood

The Nollywood Studies Centre (NSC) at Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) is set to host a crucial conversation on the future of Nigerian cinema with a special edition of its Filmmakers’ Forum. The event will focus on the rapidly evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in content creation and its impact on Nollywood.

The forum, scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, will run from 11am to 1pm. Filmmakers keen to explore this technological shift are invited to register their attendance online.

AI is quickly moving from a novelty to a practical, transformative tool across industries and filmmaking is no exception. Modern content creators now have access to AI tools that streamline production, touching every stage from script development and visual design to post-production and marketing.

The technology is enabling new forms of content creation and enhancement, offering alternatives to traditional, camera-dependent filmmaking processes and complex editing systems.

This edition of the forum will feature Nigerian filmmakers who have already integrated AI tools into their practice. The discussion will delve into practical application, future of Nollywood and broader implications.

The event promises to be an essential gathering for anyone interested in the intersection of technology and creativity in Nigerian film.

The Nollywood Studies Centre is housed within the School of Media and Communication (SMC) at PAU.
