A major player in African publishing, Lagos-based Narrative Landscape Press, has announced its expansion into East Africa with the launch of Narrative Landscape Press East Africa (NLPEA) in Nairobi, Kenya.
The expansion, which marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory and is guided by the company’s motto “Our Stories, Our Way,” aims to create a robust platform for East African writers while maintaining its commitment to authentic African storytelling. NLPEA will focus on publishing works that showcase the region’s rich literary heritage and reach both local and global audiences.
“Narrative Landscape Press was built on a vision to tell authentic African stories, and this expansion into East Africa is our way of honoring that legacy,” stated Eghosa Imasuen, co-founder of Narrative Landscape Press. His fellow co-founder and managing director, Anwuli Ojogwu, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating “with the region’s talented writers, enriching the literary landscape and creating a home for stories that resonate locally and globally.”
In addition to identifying, nurturing and publishing remarkable works of fiction, non-fiction, and children’s writing by East African authors, Narrative Landscape Press East Africa will offer its publishing services to organisations and individuals to produce high-quality publications tailored to their specific needs under its publishing services imprint, Prima.
Wendy Njoroge, co-founder and chief executive officer of NLPEA, echoed this passion for storytelling and called upon East Africa’s creative community to join this journey, saying, “This is a new dawn for storytelling in East Africa. We are committed to providing a platform where stories from this region can thrive and reach audiences far and wide. To authors and storytellers, we invite you to partner with us on this exciting journey. Our stories, told our way, are ready to change the world.”
Readers can look forward to an exciting lineup of books, including powerful fiction, insightful non-fiction, and imaginative children’s stories that reflect the diversity and richness of the East African experience.
