Mr JazziQ has released his most ambitious solo album to date, 03:03, through ONErpm, timed to coincide with his birthday. The 14-track project marks a significant milestone in the South African producer and DJ’s career, cementing his transition from one half of a celebrated duo to a fully-fledged solo force in the Amapiano movement.
The album opens with a spoken introduction from Madala TK, a prominent advocate for sobriety, whose account of personal recovery sets a grounded and purposeful tone. What follows is a carefully constructed balance of high-energy club tracks and more contemplative moments, reflecting JazziQ’s evolution from a young beat-maker into a seasoned artist with a clear artistic vision.

The lead single, “Wololo,” featuring MJ, Vigro Deep and Focalistic, has already made a strong impression on listeners, praised for its rhythmic precision and polished production. Elsewhere, “Chom Yam” featuring vocalist Chley injects a lighter, more playful mood into the record. The track’s title is a nod to “Chommie”, the affectionate nickname JazziQ’s fanbase has long used for him.
To shape the sound of 03:03, JazziQ drew on a carefully curated roster of collaborators. King P contributed to several tracks, bringing a contemporary edge to the project, while Tete, the vocalist synonymous with the 3 Step style, also features. Additional contributions come from SjeKonka, Zwayveton and Mpho Spizzy, resulting in a record that feels both current and deeply rooted in the traditions of South African dance music.
“I am proud of the work we put into this album. It shows where I have been and where I am going. I wanted to make something for the people who have been with me since the start, and I am thankful for the team that helped me bring this to life,” says Mr JazziQ.
The release is being celebrated with a two-day music and food event at Vibes on Main in Johannesburg, bringing together fans who have followed JazziQ’s journey from his earliest days shaping the Amapiano sound.
