Macaulay Culkin joins 2nd season of “Fallout”

Macaulay Culkin has officially joined the cast of Prime Video’s Fallout for its second season, portraying Lacerta Legate, a high-ranking member of the notorious Caesar’s Legion, per inverse.com.

The actor has always been drawn to the irreverent, but his latest role takes him into truly uncharted territory: the post-apocalyptic ruins of the American West.

Culkin, a long-time fan of the original video game franchise, revealed that the role felt like a natural progression. “My wife [Brenda Song] turned to me halfway through the first season and said, ‘You belong on this show,’” Culkin told Inverse. “She knows my vibe. This is exactly the kind of tone I love.”

The actor’s entrance in Episode 3 introduces viewers to a fractured Caesar’s Legion, a brutal militia modelled after Ancient Rome. While the show is known for its dark humour, Culkin’s introduction signals a grimmer turn for the series. His character presides over a faction defined by archaic laws and ruthless discipline, clashing with protagonists Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins).

Reflecting on the production, Culkin praised the show’s “meticulous” world-building. “The attention to detail is incredible,” he remarked. “From the specific prop bodies in the Legion camp to the way your hair is styled, everything is intentional. It’s a testament to the ship they’re running.”

Despite the high stakes, Culkin enjoyed a level of creative freedom on set. Without extensive prep time following a tour, he offered producers a “spectrum” of performances for the Legate. “I’d do something different every take, reacting to the other actors. It was a fluid dance,” he said.

While the actor remained tight-lipped about his character’s ultimate fate, he promised fans that there is much more to come. “There’s plenty more of the Legion ahead. I can’t say if I live or die—if I did, I’d have to kill you.”

Fallout Season 2 is now streaming on Prime Video.
