Chart-topping singer Lizzo has launched a scathing attack on online trolls, telling critics to “mind their business” after a viral joke was made about her weight, according to a metro.co.uk report.
The 37-year-old ‘About Damn Time’ hitmaker, who has publicly documented her journey of losing more than 60lbs, has frequently faced scrutiny and body-shaming comments online throughout the process.
The star posted a picture of herself in a yellow snake-print bikini on Instagram, accompanied by a defiant message aimed at those mocking her appearance.
“Today I saw a fat joke about me—in 2025—and it was viral. It was a dumb joke and they were just laughing at me because I’m fat…. Let me be a reminder to everyone to NEVER let anyone shame you for what you choose to do with your body,” the caption began.
Lizzo argued that critics will never be satisfied, regardless of her size, because her body “is not FOR them. It’s for you.”
She continued by fiercely asserting her bodily autonomy and privacy: “If I get a BBL mind ur business, if lose 100lbs mind ur business, if I gain every pound back and then some… mind ur f*g business.”
The post concluded with a sharp sign-off: “Anyways.. my fat ass stays living with a paid off mortgage in yall b*****s heads. ”

Earlier this year, the Grammy-winner, full name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, spoke about the dietary changes that aided her weight loss. Speaking on the Just Trish podcast, she credited giving up her vegan diet for the shift, explaining that consuming a lot of fake meats, bread, and rice made it difficult to feel full.
“When I started actually eating whole foods and eating, like, beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full,” she explained.
