Lil Baby announces ‘Dominique’ album hot on heels of chart-topping ‘WHAM’ success

Lil Baby has announced his next album “Dominique” will drop in February 2025, mere weeks after his current release “WHAM” claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200, per thesource.com.

The Grammy-nominated Atlanta rapper, born Dominique Jones, shared the news via Instagram, teasing fans with a cryptic post: “See y’all Again in a couple weeks ‘Dominique’ The Album 2-?-25.”

The announcement comes as “WHAM” continues its impressive commercial run, having accumulated 140,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 119.77 million on-demand streams.

This rapid-fire release strategy marks an unprecedented move for the chart-topping artiste, who has historically maintained longer gaps between albums. “Dominique,” titled after his birth name, suggests a more personal approach compared to his previous works, potentially offering fans a deeper glimpse into the artist’s life.

The new album announcement arrives amid “WHAM’s” continued success, which features collaborations with industry heavyweights including Young Thug, Future and Travis Scott. The album’s extended version, featuring four additional tracks, has already demonstrated Lil Baby’s commanding presence in the industry, with multiple songs dominating Apple Music’s charts across 50 countries.

If “Dominique” matches the commercial success of its predecessor, it would mark Lil Baby’s fifth Billboard 200 chart-topper, further cementing his position as one of hip-hop’s most consistent hitmakers. The rapper is currently promoting “WHAM” through various media appearances, including a recent performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
