Lala Akindoju has announced her departure from Amazon Studios after almost two years as Senior Movies Creative Executive for Amazon Studios in Nigeria.
Lala, star of Dazzling Mirage and CEO and a recipient of the Africa Magic Trailblazer award was part of a team of four that joined Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu on the Amazon Studios Originals development team in September 2022 following Amazon’s foray into Africa.
The team included Kaye Ann Williams (Head of scripted and movies for South Africa), Brendan Gabriel (Senior Unscripted Creative Executive for South Africa), and Mike-Steve Adeleye (Senior Scripted Creative Executive for Nigeria.
In a Friday January 12, 2024 tweet announcing her departure from Amazon Studios, the thespian wrote “Looking back at a beautiful December which [sic] as I ended my remarkable journey with Amazon.”
Making no mention of her next career move, the CEO of The Make It Happen Productions ended with “I carry with me the lessons, growth and friendship of a team of brilliant minds as I set out on my next adventure. I am excited for the journey ahead and looking forward to carrying u with me.”
