LABAF pre-festival event celebrates Ngugi wa Thiong’o

Lagos is abuzz with literary anticipation as the Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) announces the return of its annual LABAF Pre-Festival 2.0.

According to a statement, this year’s edition promises a vibrant and insightful exploration into the life and profound literary contributions of the recently departed literary giant, Ngugi wa Thiong’o.

Set to run throughout July, the pre-festival offers a unique blend of virtual and physical sessions, ensuring accessibility for all literature enthusiasts regardless of location. Attendees can look forward to engaging afternoons of readings, stimulating discussions, captivating poetry performances, and invaluable networking opportunities.

Scheduled for July 5, 12, 19 and 26, from 1pm to 3pm WAT, the physical events will take place at the CORA Library & Resource Centre. This initiative by LABAF aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Ngugi wa Thiong’o’s enduring legacy, inviting participants to delve into his groundbreaking works and celebrate his impact on global literature.
