Kunle Afolayan has been named Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year at the recent International Tourism Investment Summit in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The award-winning filmmaker received the honour at the Governor’s Dinner and Tourism Awards Night, which concluded the three-day summit held from July 22 to 24 at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
The summit, tagged #ITSOyoState2025, convened leading figures in tourism and hospitality, including government officials, investors, developers and creatives. Discussions focused on enhancing Oyo’s tourism potential while preserving its culture and fostering job creation.
As the founder of KAP Film Village & Resort, a prominent creative and tourism integrated film destination in Nigeria, Afolayan has cultivated an ecosystem that seamlessly blends storytelling, heritage, and tourism.
KAP management expressed their gratitude, stating, “We’re truly grateful for this recognition. It’s not just about one man’s dream.
