Kingdom Kroseide has emerged winner of the Nigerian Idol season 6 competition after 16 weeks of pulsating vocal performances.
He defeated Francis Atela at the grand finale, which held at the Africa Magic studios and aired live on Sunday, July 11.
Both finalists performed songs by Fela Kuti, while Francis sang “Yellow Fever”, Kingdom rendered “Gentleman”.
Highpoints of the night included performances by the judges and a rendition of “One Hit” by Cohbams Asuquo, one of the guest judges on the show alongside Kingdom.
Patoranking, Ayra Starr, Ice Prince and Chike performed at the event.
Patoranking sang “Celebrate Me”, which he used to pay tribute to Sound Sultan, whose death was announced on Sunday morning.
As the winner, Kingdom walked home with the grand prize, which included a cash prize of N30 million, a brand new SUV, a six-track EP recording deal with three music videos included, an all-expense-paid trip to Seychelles, and a weekend getaway to Dubai for two.
