Reality TV stars Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have joined Instagram content creators taking issue with a recent redesign.
That is even as the head of Instagram Adam Mosseri Tuesday said the platform’s latest update is just a “test,” following a slew of complaints from users.
Ms Kardashian and Ms Jenner shared posts on their Instagram Stories asking the Meta-owned platform to “make Instagram Instagram again”.
Instagram has recently shifted its focus from individual posts to its own short video format Reels.
But some users are telling Instagram to “stop trying to be TikTok”.
Mosseri admitted in a Reel on Tuesday that there has been “a lot of change all at once” on the platform.
“If you’re seeing a new, full-screen version of a feed or you’re hearing about it, know that this is a test,” Mosseri said in a video addressing the concerns over the platform’s changes. “It’s a test to a few percentage of people out there, and the idea is that a more full-screen experience, not only for video but for photos, might be a bit more fun and engaging experience. But I also want to be clear, it’s not yet good.”
