Kid Cudi to debut 1st solo art exhibition in Paris

Kid Cudi is trading the microphone for a paintbrush this month as he unveils his debut solo exhibition, Echoes of the Past, at the Ruttkowski;68 gallery in Paris, according to hypebeast.com.

Operating under his birth name, Scott Ramon, the Grammy-winning artist will present a suite of 10 paintings from January 31 to March 1.

The exhibition follows the premiere of his recent documentary at Art Basel Miami Beach and marks a significant creative pivot for the rapper.

The collection introduces a distinct visual language defined by vivid, geometric compositions. According to the exhibition statement by Amy Verner, the works explore Ramon’s “interior landscape,” balancing playful palettes with “shadowy emotional undercurrents” that suggest a personal pursuit of empowerment.

Ramon’s foray into fine art began only a year ago, though it serves as a revival of his childhood ambitions to become a cartoonist. A recurring figure in the works is Max, a visual alter ego representing the artist’s “inner child.” This new medium has become a vital tool for the artist to process personal challenges, themes previously explored in his recent memoir and his 2025 studio album, Free.

To provide a fully immersive experience, the exhibition will feature an original 10-minute soundscape. The atmospheric, synth-heavy score was composed specifically to complement the paintings, bridging the gap between his established musical career and his new identity as a visual artist.
