Kelly Clarkson, who somehow always manages to make every song she touches her own, completely slayed this classic Christmas tune with a voice as smooth as butter.
The American Idol alum took to the stage on her award-winning daytime talk show to give fans a performance to remember. Joined by her band and surrounded by a stunning, golden backdrop, Kelly put her own little jazzy spin on a cover of “Last Christmas” by Wham!
According to womansday.com, dressed in a bedazzled corset top under a long black coat cinched at the waist, Kelly’s voice is clear proof why she was named America’s original idol. She matched the jazzy rendition of the song by adding a bold red lip and curly hair reminiscent of the Old Hollywood era.

The dazzling performance was a special Kellyoke encore from her holiday special, When Christmas Comes Around, from last year. She considered it “a bonus song” to last year’s Christmas special and although there isn’t plans for a new one to air this year, we’ll never get tired of listening to last year’s performances on repeat.
With guests like Ariana Grande, Jay Leno, Amy Poehler, and more, Kelly performed a selection of classic holiday tunes, including an emotional original titled, “Merry Christmas (To the One I Used to Know).”
