Kelley Mack, known for her role as Addy on AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead, has died at the age of 33 after a battle with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, according to cnbctv18.com.
The actress reportedly passed away peacefully on Saturday in her hometown of Cincinnati, surrounded by her family.
The news was shared by her family on Instagram, who described her as “a bright, fervent light” and praised her courage throughout her illness. Mack, whose birth name was Kelley Klebenow, was diagnosed with central nervous system glioma, a highly malignant and difficult-to-treat cancer.
Mack was a versatile artiste with a career that began in commercials as a child. She earned an Acting Award from the Tisch School of the Arts for her 2008 debut film, The Elephant Garden, and also worked as a voice-over artiste, including providing a voice match for Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Mack’s credits also include guest roles on shows like Chicago Med and producing her own short films.
She is survived by her parents, Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow; her sister Kathryn; brother Parker; her grandparents; and her boyfriend, Logan Lanier.
A memorial service is planned for August 16 in Ohio, with a separate celebration of life to be held in Los Angeles.
