Keanu Reeves stars as 'John Wick' in JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 - PARABELLUM.

Keanu Reeves’s stolen ‘John Wick’ Rolex found in Chile

Keanu Reeves’s stolen Rolex Submariner – a watch with deep connections to the John Wick franchise – has been recovered in Santiago, Chile, local authorities confirmed this week in a twist that could have been pulled straight from one of his action-packed movies, per gq-magazine.co.uk.

The timepiece, valued at $10,400, was among several items stolen during a break-in at Reeves’s residence in late 2023. The watch bears special significance as it belongs to “THE JOHN WICK FIVE” collection – a series of identical Submariner timepieces that Reeves purchased as gifts for his stunt team following the completion of John Wick: Chapter 4.

Chilean law enforcement discovered the luxury timepiece during an arrest operation, finding it among a cache of stolen goods. The watch’s authenticity was confirmed by its unique caseback inscription reading “THE JOHN WICK FIVE” and “KEANU, THANK YOU, JW4, 2021.”

The recovered Submariner, reference 126610LN, represents more than just its monetary value. It exemplifies Reeves’s well-documented generosity, as the actor had originally purchased five identical pieces to honour his stunt team’s contributions to the film. The theft was particularly concerning as it marked the latest in a series of security incidents involving Reeves’s properties since 2014.

The Rolex Submariner, introduced in the 1950s as a professional diving watch, has evolved into one of the world’s most sought-after luxury timepieces. While maintaining its robust engineering and practical features, including water resistance and automatic movement, the model has become increasingly difficult to acquire at retail, with waiting lists stretching for years – unless, of course, you happen to be Keanu Reeves.

Authorities are currently working to return the watch to its rightful owner, though fans have humorously noted that, given John Wick’s fictional history with stolen property, it’s probably better that the timepiece was recovered through legal channels.
