Keanu Reeves, the iconic star of the John Wick franchise, has confirmed in a recent interview with ComicBook.com, that a fifth installment in the series is highly unlikely. Reeves, who portrayed the legendary assassin, stated plainly, “You know, the character’s dead. He died in John Wick: Chapter 4.”
The 60-year-old actor, who brought the beloved hitman to life since the first film’s release in 2014, explained that there are no current discussions about resurrecting the character. When asked if John Wick could return in some form, Reeves responded, “Right now? Right now there isn’t.”
Producer Erica Lee echoed Reeves’ sentiments in a separate interview with Screen Rant, acknowledging the challenges of continuing the franchise. “We set this bar so high in John Wick: Chapter 4 and left it all on the table,” she said. “To pull it all together, it has to be a great idea, and the stars have to align.”
Fans of the high-octane action series may be disappointed, but Reeves and the creative team seem committed to honouring the character’s definitive conclusion. For now, John Wick’s story appears to have reached its end.
