Katy Perry set to release new single featuring Doechii

Katy Perry is making a highly anticipated return with her latest single and video, “I’M HIS, HE’S MINE,” featuring rapper Doechii, per billboard.com. The new track is set to drop on Friday, September 13, as part of Perry’s upcoming dance-pop album, “143”, which will be released on September 20.

Perry took to social media on September 10 to announce the news, giving fans a sneak peek of the song. This release follows the controversy surrounding her previous single, “Woman’s World,” produced by Dr Luke, who has faced legal battles over accusations of sexual misconduct, most notably with Kesha.

In a recent episode of the podcast *Call Her Daddy* aired on September 4, Perry addressed the controversy, acknowledging that the collaboration “started a lot of conversations.” She emphasised that Dr. Luke was just one of many collaborators and that the songs were born from her personal experiences. “The truth is, I wrote these songs from my experience of my whole life going through this metamorphosis,” Perry explained.

Perry also spoke about the empowerment she feels as a mother and a woman, which inspired “Woman’s World.” She highlighted that the creation of her music involved several collaborators, including those from her Teenage Dream era.

Katy Perry first rose to fame with her 2008 album *One of the Boys*, featuring the hit single “I Kissed a Girl,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100. Her third album, *Teenage Dream* (2010), made history with five consecutive No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, a record previously held only by Michael Jackson.

Perry’s subsequent albums, including Prism (2013) and Witness (2017), continued her chart success with hits like “Roar” and “Dark Horse.” Over her career, Perry has achieved nine Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles, 14 Top 10 hits, and numerous accolades, including being named Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2012.
