Kanye West “in final talks” for Wireless Festival headline slot

Kanye West is reportedly set for a sensational return to the UK festival circuit, with insiders claiming he is in advanced negotiations to headline this summer’s Wireless Festival, per music-news.com.

The 48-year-old rapper, who now legally goes by the name Ye, is said to be eyeing the performance as a pivotal moment to rebuild his British fanbase. If the deal is finalised, it would mark his first appearance at the event in over a decade.

According to a source speaking to The Sun’s Bizarre column, the Chicago-born artist is eager to pivot the public focus back to his craft following several years of political and personal controversy.

“It’s been an incredibly turbulent few years for Ye, but he wants to get back on stage and prove he’s a serious musician,” the source claimed. “Wireless is a massive festival and for him to return and headline would be huge.”

The rapper has reportedly expressed a desire for a “fresh start” and has “apologised profusely” for his recent public behaviour. Organisers are understood to be pushing for a multi-night commitment, mirroring the three-show run delivered by Drake last summer.

Ye last graced the Wireless stage in 2014, where he famously stepped in as a last-minute replacement for Drake. His dual sets in London and Birmingham became the stuff of festival legend—the former for a polarising mid-set rant and the latter for its high-octane production.

Wireless has long been the UK’s premier destination for hip-hop and urban music, having previously hosted heavyweights such as Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, and Kendrick Lamar.

While negotiations regarding the number of nights remain ongoing, the booking would represent one of the most significant live music coups of the year, ending Ye’s prolonged hiatus from major international stages.
