In a recent exclusive interview with City & State New York, the entrepreneur and Brooklyn native discussed the ambitious business venture and his vision for the project.
Jay-Z explained that New York City is the “entertainment capital of the world,” making it the perfect location for a world-class casino. He sees the project, named Caesars Palace Times Square, as more than just a gaming venue—he views it as an “extension of culture” and the vibrant energy that defines New York.
He believes a casino would not compete with Times Square but would “complement it,” drawing even more people to the area. His goal is to create a destination that not only attracts tourists but also gives New Yorkers a place they can be proud of, generating new energy, business, and opportunities for the community. The proposal aims to add to the neighborhood’s existing attractions, like Broadway shows and shops, by creating a new hub of activity.
