Bronx rapper Ice Spice is firing back at speculation about her recent weight loss, urging her critics to focus on her music rather than her body, per hiphopdx.com.
In a candid X Spaces session this week, Spice addressed the rumours that she has been using the weight loss drug Ozempic to achieve her slimmer figure.
“I wish y’all never learned the word Ozempic,” she said. “What even is Ozempic? What the fuck is that? Genuinely, what is that? You lazy-ass bitches never heard of a gym? It’s called the gym, it’s called eating healthy, it’s called being on tour.”
Spice’s fellow rapper Sexyy Red previously defended her, noting that people can lose weight through stress or simply eating less, without resorting to medication.
The “Munch” hitmaker has indeed been documenting her fitness journey on social media, sharing sweaty gym selfies and flaunting her curves in revealing outfits.
Amid the weight loss chatter, Spice has also been the subject of romance rumours, with fans speculating about a possible relationship with fellow UK rapper Central Cee. The two were recently spotted shopping together in London, but Spice has denied they are an item, calling Cee her “twin” instead.
Spice has remained tight-lipped about her personal life, though she did confirm last year that she was “dating someone.” For now, the rising star seems focused on her music, with her latest collaboration “Did It First” with Cench adding to her growing discography.
