Olawale Kayode-Adedeji, known professionally as “Hundred,” is emerging as a promising voice in Nigeria’s vibrant hip-hop landscape. The 26-year-old son of renowned journalist and Penpushing Media founder, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, is preparing to release his latest single, “Habibi Cover.”
Currently pursuing a degree in Sociology at Esfam University’s Nigeria Campus in Benin Republic, Hundred represents a new generation of educated artistes who are breaking the traditional mould.
The Ijesa-born performer, who is the third child and first son of his family, has demonstrated a remarkable ability to balance his academic pursuits with his musical aspirations.
“My passion for music drives me, and I’ve learned to balance it with my studies,” Hundred told our reporter. “With my course nearing completion, I believe my education will be a valuable asset in the industry.”
Drawing inspiration from the late Nigerian rap legend Dagrin, Hundred aims to carve his own niche in the entertainment industry while maintaining his academic excellence.
The up-and-coming artiste has already established a strong social media presence, engaging with fans across multiple platforms including Instagram (@_officialhundred_), Facebook (Olawale Kayode-Adedeji), and TikTok (@_official100_).
His growing following suggests a promising trajectory in the competitive music industry.
With strong support from his family, including his journalist father, Hundred emphasises his commitment to bringing positive recognition to both his family name and country through his musical endeavours. “I appreciate everyone who has encouraged me, and I won’t disappoint them,” he affirmed, highlighting the responsibility he feels toward his supporters and heritage.
The release of “Habibi Cover” is anticipated to mark a significant milestone in Hundred’s evolving musical journey, potentially establishing him as a noteworthy voice in Nigeria’s dynamic music scene.
