American rap heavyweight Gunna has been confirmed as a headline act for the upcoming Detty December Fest 2025. In a move set to electrify the Lagos holiday season, the “Drip Too Hard” artiste will take the stage on Monday, December 29, bringing his signature flow to one of West Africa’s most anticipated cultural festivals.
Gunna joins a star-studded roster that includes hip-hop icon Busta Rhymes, Tanzanian sensation Juma Jux and Nigeria’s own Bella Shmurda. The festival, which runs from December 6 to 31, is fast becoming the definitive destination for the global African diaspora returning home for the holidays.

The festival has secured a prestigious national endorsement from Minister Hannatu Musawa, Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture & the Creative Economy. Minister Musawa highlighted the event as a “defining contributor” to the nation’s cultural ecosystem, noting its vital role in boosting international tourism and showcasing Nigeria’s creative prowess on the world stage.
Produced by Livespot360 – the team behind legendary Lagos appearances by Cardi B and Burna Boy – Detty December Fest is designed as a citywide takeover. Beyond the main stage performances at Ilubirin, Ikoyi and the Livespot Entertarium in Lekki, attendees can expect Multi-stage concerts and elite nightlife experiences, Fashion and cultural showcases highlighting local designers, Culinary pop-ups and immersive art installations, and A “Cinematic Live Experience” and high-energy raves.
The festival circuit has already gained international acclaim from the likes of Forbes and Condé Nast Traveler as a “bucket-list global party”.
With the addition of Gunna to the December 29 slot, there’s an expected surge in ticket demand. Tickets for Gunna’s performance and other festival dates are available now at dettydecfest.com.
