Geoxpress has unveiled his third project, Xpress Riddim II, marking a significant evolution in his sound and artistry in a bold return to the music scene. The seven-track EP, released today, says a statement, builds upon the success of its predecessor while carving out new territory in the Afrobeats landscape.
Unlike its more experimental forerunner, Xpress Riddim II sees Geoxpress honing in on the core elements of Afrobeats, with a particular focus on Afropop, Afro Swing, High Life and Dancehall influences. The result is a collection of tracks that are both catchy and accessible, designed to resonate with a wide audience.
“Xpress Riddim II is a project I created for my people to move around with,” Geoxpress revealed in an interview. “It is quite personal but was created with the listener as a key consideration. I wanted to create something that people could truly connect with and make their own.”
The EP explores a range of themes, from introspection to celebration, touching on hope, resilience, romance and personal growth. Standout tracks include the reflective “Energy” and the upbeat “Jungle,” each offering listeners a unique perspective into the artist’s world.
Geoxpress doesn’t go it alone on this project. The EP features a collaboration with fellow artiste 9t9, while production duties are split between TNT Baby and Lukka, adding depth and variety to the soundscape.
