The music industry’s biggest names are coming together for FireAid, a massive benefit concert aimed at supporting communities devastated by the recent Los Angeles wildfires, per hollywoodreporter.com. The event, scheduled for January 30, has expanded to include both the Intuit Dome and The Forum in Inglewood due to overwhelming support.
The star-studded lineup features an eclectic mix of musical powerhouses, including Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Jelly Roll, and Lil Baby. In a historic collaboration, Dave Matthews and John Mayer will share the stage for the first time. The roster also boasts legendary performers like Earth, Wind & Fire, Joni Mitchell, and Stevie Nicks, alongside contemporary stars Tate McRae, Gwen Stefani, and Katy Perry.
The devastating fires, which began on January 7, have left an unprecedented trail of destruction across Los Angeles County, claiming 25 lives and destroying over 12,000 structures in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Altadena. As firefighters continue their battle with the blazes – the Eaton Fire at 55% containment and the Palisades Fire at 22% – the entertainment industry has mobilized swiftly to support recovery efforts.
The concert, produced by the Azoff family in partnership with Live Nation and AEG Presents, will be broadcast across multiple platforms, including Apple Music, Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. All proceeds will benefit a newly established 501(c)(3) organization focused on rebuilding infrastructure, supporting displaced families, and advancing fire prevention strategies.
For some performers, the cause hits particularly close to home. Los Angeles native Billie Eilish and Orange County-raised Gwen Stefani share deep connections to the affected communities. The Eagles have already demonstrated their commitment to the cause with a substantial $2.5 million donation.
The wildfires’ impact has reverberated throughout the entertainment industry, leading to the cancellation of several high-profile events, including some pre-Grammy Awards celebrations. However, FireAid stands as a testament to the industry’s resilience and commitment to community support during times of crisis.
As additional acts and special guests are expected to be announced in the coming days, FireAid is shaping up to be not just a concert, but a powerful symbol of hope and unity in the face of devastating loss.
