“Fantastic Four” surpasses $500m global box office milestone

Despite a quiet weekend at the international box office, Marvel/Disney’s Fantastic Four: First Steps has reached a major milestone, crossing the half-billion-dollar mark globally, per deadline.com

. The superhero film now stands at $505.1 million worldwide after its sixth weekend in theatres.

The film’s international performance remains strong, adding another $4.4 million to its offshore total, now at $240.5 million. The movie showed impressive staying power with only a 29% drop from the previous weekend. Key markets are still embracing the film, with a 35% jump in Brazil, a 1% increase in the UK, and minimal declines in France (-24%), Mexico (-33%), and Spain (-36%).

Fantastic Four: First Steps is the highest-grossing superhero film of 2025 in Latin America, Italy and Thailand. It currently ranks as the eighth highest-grossing studio film of the year, both internationally and worldwide. The top international markets for the movie are the UK ($31M), Mexico ($28.2M), France ($16.2M), Brazil ($14.4M), and Australia ($11.4M).

Elsewhere, Searchlight’s new comedy The Roses, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, opened with $9.2 million across 40 overseas markets. The film topped the box office in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Universal/DreamWorks Animation’s The Bad Guys 2 continues its strong run, adding $12.5 million for an international total of $103.5 million. New Line/Warner Bros’ Weapons also crossed a significant benchmark, with its overseas cume reaching $100 million.
