Erica Banks arrested at Atlanta airport

Erica Banks, the rapper best known for her viral hit “Buss It,” was arrested at an Atlanta airport after a stolen gun was allegedly found in her luggage, per hiphopwired.com. The incident occurred as she was preparing to board a flight to Houston.

According to reports, airport security discovered the firearm in her Louis Vuitton bag during a routine search. A check of the gun’s serial number revealed it had been reported stolen in Greenville, South Carolina. Banks was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property before being released from Clayton County Jail just over an hour later.

Banks’s legal team quickly issued a statement, asserting that the rapper was unaware the weapon was stolen. “She had no idea it was stolen,” her attorney said. “Our goal is to get the charges dropped so it doesn’t go on her record.”

This arrest comes shortly after Banks concluded her “Strip Tour,” which drew mixed reactions online. The artiste, who rose to prominence on TikTok, has not yet commented publicly on the arrest. She is expected to appear in court in the near future if her legal team is unsuccessful in getting the charges dropped.
