In a stunning twist at the 76th Emmy Awards, Max’s Hacks clinched the best comedy title, outpacing frontrunner The Bear, per cnn.com. Despite FX’s culinary drama dominating with five wins, including three acting accolades, Hacks pulled off an 11nth-hour upset.
The drama category saw Shōgun make history as only the second non-English language program nominated for outstanding drama, following Squid Game‘s 2022 nod. The historical series claimed four awards, including top acting honours and the coveted outstanding drama trophy.
Meanwhile, Baby Reindeer triumphed in the limited series category, securing four wins for its raw portrayal of trauma and recovery.
This year’s Emmys proved that in television, as in life, expect the unexpected.
