Former Saturday Night Live star Ego Nwodim has landed her first project since announcing her departure from the legendary sketch comedy show last month after seven seasons, per ew.com.
The comedian will perform a solo comedy act as part of The Comedy Series at Lincoln Center Theater’s Claire Tow Theater in New York City this November, marking her Off-Broadway debut.
Nwodim’s show, which is directed by Zhailon Levingston, is set to run from November 19 to 23.
The Comedy Series, a collaboration between LCT3 and Seaview, is described as an evolving theatrical vehicle where “stand-up meets storytelling” and performers “test boundaries, shape new material and explore the space between humor and truth.”
Nwodim joins a lineup that also features shows from acclaimed comedians Jerrod Carmichael, Vir Das and Sam Jay throughout the remainder of 2025.
The announcement comes weeks after Nwodim, a repertory player since 2020, shared the news of her exit in a September 12 Instagram post, stating, “The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight.” Her departure, ahead of SNL’s 51st season, prompted shocked reactions from castmates past and present, including Cecily Strong and Chloe Fineman, who called her “One of the best to ever do it.”
