Davido clinched the ‘Best African Artiste’ accolade at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). Held on Saturday night at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, the event was hosted by Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh and broadcaster Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku.
Davido outshone prominent artistes such as Temz, Rema, Asake, Burna Boy, Tyla and JZyNO. He accepted the award through an associate.
The night was a triumph for Ghanaian artiste Stonebwoy, who dominated with six awards, including Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, Best International Collaboration, and Artiste of the Year.
King Promise won Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year for ‘Terminator’ and secured the Best Afropop Song and Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste awards. Black Sherif earned Best Hiplife/HipHop Artiste of the Year, while Sarkodie took home Best Hip Hop Song. Notably, Asake was the previous year’s Best African Artiste winner.
