Dan Brown’s new thriller “The Secret of Secrets” hits shelves after 8-year hiatus

Dan Brown has released his highly anticipated new novel, The Secret of Secrets, per ctvnews.ca. The nearly 700-page thriller, published in 16 languages simultaneously, marks the author’s return to the world of codes, history and cutting-edge science that made him a global phenomenon.

Brown, 61, described the book as “by far the most intricately plotted and ambitious novel I’ve written to date.” Its release was shrouded in secrecy, with publishers, printers and translators working under strict confidentiality to prevent leaks.

The book has already drawn mixed reactions from critics. The New York Times offered a broadly positive review while noting its “hyperventilating prose,” while Britain’s The Guardian dismissed it as “weapons-grade nonsense.”

With over 250 million copies sold in 56 languages, Brown became a household name with his 2003 blockbuster The Da Vinci Code. That novel, famous for its controversial plot involving the supposed descendants of Jesus, cemented his status as a master of the religious and historical thriller genre.

The author is kicking off a month-long global promotional tour, starting in New York, to celebrate the release.
