The Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) is set to host its monthly BookTrek event, featuring acclaimed author Toki Mabogunje. The literary gathering will take place on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 3pm to 6pm at the historic Freedom Park on Lagos Island.
Mabogunje will be discussing her latest work, This Is Not Discoteke, in what promises to be an engaging session for literature enthusiasts. The event, to be held in Kongi’s Harvest Hall, will be moderated by Aduke Gomez, adding depth to the conversation around Mabogunje’s book.
CORA BookTrek, known for showcasing some of the most captivating minds in contemporary literature, offers a platform for reading and discussion. This month’s event will be a hybrid affair, allowing both in-person attendance at Freedom Park and virtual participation via Zoom.
According to the organisers, this is not just another book reading but an opportunity to delve into the life and experiences of a young lady, as portrayed in Mabogunje’s work.
For those interested in attending, RSVP Oyin on +234 818 285 7218 for more details like meeting ID and Passcode for virtual participants.
The event is part of CORA’s ongoing efforts to promote literary arts and foster intellectual discourse in Nigeria’s cultural landscape.
