Christina Aguilera says performing in ‘nonsense’ accessory caused her physical health issues

Christina Aguilera has disclosed serious health complications resulting from years of performing in high heels, during a candid Rolling Stone conversation with rising star Raye, per parade.com.

The Grammy-winning artiste and “Beautiful” hitmaker, 43, revealed significant damage to her legs and feet, including knee cartilage deterioration, caused by prolonged use of high heels during performances throughout her decades-long career. The revelation came while praising Raye’s choice to perform barefoot, with Aguilera admitting, “I’ve already f—ed up my legs and my feet so bad with all this high-heel nonsense.”

This health disclosure follows recent challenges in Aguilera’s career, including the postponement of her Las Vegas residency earlier this year due to illness. However, the pop veteran has maintained her characteristic resilience, recently addressing body image critics in Glamour magazine with characteristic defiance: “I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a f–k about your opinion.”

The conversation highlights a growing industry awareness about performers’ physical well-being and sustainable stage practices, with younger artistes like Raye choosing comfort over conventional performance wear.
