Global hip-hop icon Busta Rhymes is set to take centre stage tonight, Friday, December 19, as the headline act for the Detty December Fest at Ilubirin, Ikoyi.
The “Break Ya Neck” rapper is one of the international headliners for the month-long festival. Doors are scheduled to open at 4pm, with fans expected to flock to the waterfront Ilubirin venue for what organisers promise will be an “explosive” night of high-energy performance and nostalgia.

Busta Rhymes is among a curated list of stars including Nigerian street-pop sensation Bella Shmurda and Tanzanian R&B star Juma Jux. The event is part of a broader cultural takeover produced by Livespot360, the agency responsible for bringing global heavyweights like Cardi B to the Nigerian stage.

The festival, which runs until 31 December, has received a high-profile endorsement from the Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa. In a recent statement, the Minister highlighted the event’s role in positioning Nigeria as a premier global destination for holiday tourism and creative excellence.
Beyond the music, attendees can expect immersive art installations, culinary pop-ups and a premium nightlife atmosphere.
Following tonight’s concert, the festival momentum continues with a variety show, “Christmas Like a Movie”, on 20 December, and a headline set by American rapper Gunna later in the month.
Limited tickets for tonight’s performance are available via the official website, dettydecfest.com. Fans are encouraged to follow @dettydecfest on social media for real-time updates and surprise guest announcements.
