Bruno Mars confirms completion of 1st solo album in a decade

Bruno Mars has officially finished his long-awaited next studio album, per music-news.com.

The 40-year-old superstar took to X to share the news with a concise message: “My album is done.” This upcoming release marks Mars’ first solo LP since the multi-platinum 24K Magic in 2016, which produced global hits like “That’s What I Like” and “Finesse”.

While the singer has been absent from the solo charts for nearly 10 years, he has remained a dominant force through high-profile collaborations. In 2021, he teamed up with Anderson .Paak for the Grammy-winning Silk Sonic project. More recently, he dominated the 2024 airwaves with the Lady Gaga duet Die With a Smile and the record-breaking APT. with BLACKPINK’s Rosé.

Following the monumental success of APT., Mars teased that more music with the K-pop star is on the way. “We love that song that we worked on — I won’t say the title,” he told Billboard. “We’re just trying to figure out when, or how.”

The singer also noted how the collaboration has shifted his status in South Korea, comparing the cultural impact of APT. to PSY’s 2012 phenomenon, Gangnam Style.

“Rosie is this Korean girl that introduced this thing to people who don’t know about it, including myself,” Mars explained. “That’s been the most enjoyable part for me. Seeing everybody react… that is magic to watch.”

Fans are now eagerly awaiting a release date and title for the new record, which is expected to be one of the biggest musical events of 2026.
