Britney Spears shrugs off wardrobe malfunction in new dancing video

Britney Spears has kicked off 2026 by sharing a series of energetic dance clips, including one where she expertly handled an unexpected wardrobe slip, people.com reports.

In a video posted to Instagram on Sunday, January 4, the 44-year-old pop icon performed a routine to Christina Aguilera’s 2010 track “I Am”. Wearing a sheer dress over animal-print lingerie, Spears experienced a brief wardrobe malfunction mid-twirl. However, the singer remained unfazed, later masking the “nip-slip” with a pink flower emoji before sharing the footage with her millions of followers.

Writing in French, Spears captioned the post: “Found something in my luggage… well, you know… I never posted this! Well, whatever, I decided to reconsider. Omg I had completely forgot… darn it.”

The choice of music is particularly notable given the storied history between Spears and Aguilera. The two rose to global superstardom together following their stint on Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club. Despite being pitted against one another by the media for decades, the pair have frequently exchanged public support in recent years. Aguilera was a vocal advocate for Spears during the termination of her conservatorship in 2021, while Spears has previously described Aguilera as a “beautiful woman of power.”

This latest post is one of three videos shared by the Grammy winner on Sunday. Other clips showed her dancing in a light pink dress and performing to classical music.

Spears is no stranger to defending her social media presence. Responding to critics of her living-room dance sessions in a previous post, she famously told detractors that if her videos weren’t up to their standards, they should “go read a book.”
