Britney Spears has deactivated her Instagram account following a series of cryptic and concerning posts, a move that comes amid an escalating public dispute over her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s forthcoming memoir, per people.com.
As of Sunday, November 2, Spears’ Instagram account was no longer available to view, with a message stating her “profile may have been removed.”

The deactivation follows weeks of fan concern regarding the 43-year-old singer’s social media activity. In recent posts, Spears shared her characteristic living room dancing videos but opted to turn off comments on posts that included cryptic captions about her two sons, Jayden James, 19, and Sean Preston, 20.
A video Spears shared on October 7 particularly worried her followers, showing her with bruises on her arms and bandages wrapped around her hands and wrists. In the caption, the singer explained the injuries, writing that she had fallen down stairs. She also opened up about her sons travelling back to Hawaii, where they reside with their father, Federline, 47.
“My boys had to leave and go back to Maui,” she wrote. Addressing her dancing clips, she added, “This is the way I express myself and pray through art… I’m not here for concern or pity, I just want to be a good woman and be better… and I do have wonderful support, so have a brilliant day!!!”
She further detailed the injury: “Psss I fell down the stairs at my friend’s house… it was horrible. It snaps out now and then, not sure if it’s broken but for now it’s snapped in !!! Thank u god.”
In a subsequent Instagram post on Oct. 19, the pop star appeared to reference her 2018 stay in rehab while under her 13-year conservatorship. She posted a photo of herself riding a horse and compared her shoulder blades to “wings,” writing cryptically about enduring a “traumatic experience” that caused “brain damage” and where she “illegally was forced to not use my feet or body to go anywhere.”
The social media departure also coincides with intense back-and-forth over Federline’s memoir, You Thought You Knew, which shares various claims about Spears, their marriage and her relationship with their sons.
Excerpts from the book, shared by outlets including The New York Times and USA Today, feature claims about Spears’ parenting behaviour, allegations of cheating and an expression of “imminent fear” that “something bad” will happen to her.
