The Bradford Literature Festival will be held from June 25 to July 4 with a mix of live and free online events, the organisers have said. Hailed as one of the most inspirational and inclusive festivals in the UK, it is to include appearances from Caitlin Moran, A A Dhand, Jacqueline Wilson and Michael Rosen.
“With over 500 events packed into iconic venues across 10 days, we celebrate the written and spoken word in all its wonderful forms. Every year we invite world-renowned authors, poets, speakers, musicians and artists to visit our spectacular city and share their knowledge and passions with you, the audience,” said a statement on the organisers’ website.
There will also be festival appearances from Abdal Hakim Murad, Rosen Alison Weir, Tez Ilyas, Linton Kwesi Johnson and former Great Britain rugby league captain Ellery Hanley. The festival will also have a focus on local authors like Dhand, Anita Rani, Saima Mir, Aamnah Rahman and Jewish community leader Rudi Leavor, aged 95.
The festival works year-round delivering projects across Bradford and the West Yorkshire region.
