Brad Pitt, 60, collapsed during the filming of his highly anticipated Formula One movie at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, leaving spectators stunned, per hellomagazine.com. The incident occurred while shooting a pivotal crash scene for the upcoming film, set to release in June 2025.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the veteran actor stumble away from a staged car crash before falling to the ground. Quick-thinking crew members were prepared with safety equipment, including a crash mat, ensuring Pitt’s safety during the carefully choreographed scene.
The fictional racing team featured in the film, APX GP, released a statement addressing the incident, maintaining the storyline’s authenticity: “During Qualifying, Sonny sustained a significant impact requiring immediate medical evaluation.” The statement added that while the character was stable, he would not participate in the following day’s race.
The film, directed by Top Gun: Maverick helmsman Joseph Kosinski, features Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former racing champion making a comeback after a career-ending accident. Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton serves as producer, bringing technical authenticity to the production.
“We’re shooting at the actual Grands Prix,” Kosinski revealed, highlighting the project’s commitment to realism. The production team has been integrating their fictional narrative into real F1 events throughout the past year, with current drivers like Carlos Sainz and Esteban Ocon making cameo appearances as themselves.
The ambitious project positions APX GP as the grid’s eleventh team, with Pitt’s character attempting to navigate a return to the sport alongside seasoned competitors. With Javier Bardem co-starring as the team owner, the film promises to deliver both high-octane action and compelling drama when it races into theatres next summer.
