The nominated works span from epic fables about Indian writers to dark comedies and metafictional novels exploring themes like a Ukrainian ecologist studying snails amidst war.
The Booker Prize celebrates fiction written in English and published in the UK and Ireland.
The winning author will receive £50,000 (approximately $66,000) at a livestreamed ceremony in London on November 10th.
Past winners include literary giants like Samantha Harvey, George Saunder and Marlon James.
