Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” enjoys strong debut on Billboard charts

Beyoncé’s new single “Break My Soul” debuts at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the week of June 27, after just three days of tracking.

“Break My Soul” is the lead single from Beyoncé’s upcoming seventh album, Renaissance, due out July 29 via Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records. The 16-track set follows Beyoncé’s last solo album, Lemonade, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in May 2016.

According to Rated R&B, “Break My Soul” marks Beyoncé’s sixth-highest debut on this chart as a solo artiste and seventh overall, followed by “Walk On Water” with Eminem. That collaboration, taken from his Revival album, opened at No. 14 in December 2017.

The Lemonade lead single, “Formation,” holds the title of Beyoncé’s best Hot 100 debut, opening at No. 10 during the May 14, 2016, tracking week.

Beyoncé’s other Hot 100 debut highlights include: “Sorry” (No. 11, May 14, 2016); “Ring The Alarm” (No. 12, Sept. 23, 2006); “Drunk in Love” featuring Jay Z (No. 12; Jan. 04, 2014); and “Hold Up” (No. 13, May 14, 2016).

“Break My Soul,” co-produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Sales chart. It’s her fifth song to debut atop this list, followed by 2020’s “Black Parade.” She first accomplished this feat in April 2007 with “Beautiful Liar,” a duet with Shakira.

Additionally, “Break My Soul” made chart splashes on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs Sales (No. 1), Hot R&B Songs (No. 4), R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay (No. 10), and Adult R&B Airplay (No. 17), to name a few.
