Beyoncé, whose first album Renaissance in five years drops this July, has officially shared its lead single entitled “Break My Soul.”
According to HypeBeast, clocking in at just over four-and-a-half minutes, the cut features production work by Tricky Stewart, Terius Nash and Bey herself.
The upbeat, summer-ready cut, adds the outlet, fuses sonic hints of music from the islands as Beyoncé sings of finding new love and life — feeling free with the anthem as she sings “Bey is back and I’m sleeping real good at night.”
Renaissance will mark Beyoncé’s first full-length album since 2016’s award-winning Lemonade. TIDAL — owned by her husband JAY-Z — confirmed in a surprise announcement that the upcoming record is set to release on July 29, while the album’s Apple Music page revealed a total of 16 tracks.
