‘Behind The Doors of Fate’ set for launch at Freedom Park

The literary scene in Lagos is set to witness the launch of a new and compelling novel, “Behind The Doors of Fate,” written by Dr. Prince Nduka Alum. The event, according to a statement, is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Kongi’s Harvest Arts Gallery, located within Freedom Park on Lagos Island. The launch is expected to begin at 12pm.

“Behind The Doors of Fate” is a fictionalised true story that delves into critical societal issues, notably the significance of providing equal opportunities for both male and female children.

Published by Grand Touch Media Services, Ltd., this debut novel by Dr Alum promises to captivate readers with its rich narrative and thought-provoking themes.

The book launch will not only feature a conversation with the author but also include reviews of the novel, dance and poetry performances, and an opportunity for attendees to socialize over wine and dine. The serene and artistic ambiance of Freedom Park, known for its vibrant cultural events, is expected to enhance the experience for all attendees.

Dr Alum, a consultant agronomist, entrepreneur and a dedicated marketplace minister for Christ, shared insights into the origins of his novel during a recent press interaction. He revealed that the story initially began as one of his “Bedtime Stories” titled “Sold Into Early Marriage”. As the narrative evolved, his audience urged him to find a title that encapsulated the impact of faith and resilience on the fate of the characters, leading to the final title, “Behind The Doors of Fate”.

In discussing the book’s themes, Dr Alum stated the importance of equal educational opportunities in an era marked by cultural and traditional shifts.

He remarked, “In an unpredictable age where culture and tradition seem to be on shifting grounds, equal educational opportunity has become indispensable for both the boy and girl child.”

Dr Isaac Ogbonna, who has reviewed the book, noted that it also addresses the broader challenges of life, spiritual growth, and the choices individuals make. “The story shows that the challenge of life and spiritual death or upliftment lies in the path we choose to follow,” Dr Ogbonna commented.

He praised the novel for illustrating how resilience in the face of adversity can lead to unexpected triumphs.

“Behind The Doors of Fate” is described as a modern-day tale of two souls brought together by circumstance, ultimately discovering solace and love in an unlikely union. The book launch on September 7th at Freedom Park is open to the public, promising an enriching literary experience for all who attend.
