Bad Bunny drops holiday single, announces new album for 2025

Bad Bunny is set to kick off 2025 with a bang, announcing his sixth studio album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” (I Should Have Taken More Photos) slated for release on January 5, according to nme.com. The announcement comes alongside a surprise holiday single, “Pitorro de Coco,” named after a traditional Puerto Rican rum beverage.

The album’s announcement arrived through a poignant video teaser featuring acclaimed Puerto Rican filmmaker Jacobo Morales in conversation with an animated character named “Concho.” The teaser delves into themes of nostalgia and living in the moment, with Morales reflecting on life’s fleeting nature and the importance of preserving memories through photographs.

“Photos are moments that have been lived in,” Morales muses in the video, setting a contemplative tone for what appears to be Bad Bunny’s most introspective project to date. The message resonates deeply with the album’s title, suggesting a more personal direction for the artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio.

The surprise single ‘Pitorro de Coco’ showcases the artiste processing heartbreak during the holiday season, adding to his repertoire of emotional storytelling. This new release follows the success of his 2023 album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, which garnered critical acclaim and commercial success.

Bad Bunny’s influence continues to grow beyond music, with a recent appearance in the trailer for Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2 and his “Most Wanted Tour” ranking seventh among 2024’s highest-grossing tours, accumulating an impressive $210.9 million in revenue.

The new album promises to deliver another chapter in Bad Bunny’s ever-evolving artistic journey, blending his signature style with deeper personal reflection.
