Attitude Rap confronts poverty & pressure in new track “Money Makes You A Man”

Attitude Rap has released his new single, “Money Makes You A Man,” a track that tackles the heavy themes of poverty, societal pressure and growing up too fast.

Born Olalere Joshua David and also known by the nickname “Young Preacher” following his 2024 project of the same name, Attitude Rap is celebrated for his unfiltered approach to music. Growing up in Lagos with his mother’s support, he began turning his life experiences into verses from an early age, creating songs that speak plainly about life.

His latest song continues this style, weaving together English, Yoruba and street slang into a reflection on the contradictions of a world where manhood is often measured by wealth rather than character.

The track starts with a deeply impactful question: “If you’ve paid for my sins, then why do I have to struggle?”. This opener sets the tone for a song shaped by years of observing how respect and basic dignity often depend on one’s financial status.

Attitude Rap’s delivery is described as steady and conversational, yet every line powerfully conveys the struggle of someone who has had to prove their worth just to be seen. The song doesn’t provide easy answers or false hope. Instead, it offers a raw testimony to his own journey and the struggles of many others, highlighting the cost of survival in a system that offers few second chances.

The track is available to stream now.
